current favourite things - avery huia

hello!

today i am going to share with you my recent/current favourite things. i really enjoy using all of these  items and i want to share them with you!

i love my polaroid camera, and i love taking photos with it, plus it also looks so cute! i put cute stickers on the top of it, and they are from Kikki. K

i recently bought a medium planner from Kikki. K and i am in love with it! i love decorating it, and it looks so cute and pretty and ahhh its amazing.

i also love the naked basics palette, and the colours are so pretty and the quality is so good!

i bought this candle in the scent 'summer' from trio, a cute little candle shop, and i really love the smell of it. it is fruity and sweet, but not too overpowering, and smells even better when burning. 

i found this silver metallic sharpie at Whitcoulls, and it is so cool! it comes out really smooth and the colour is amazing! it is so good for diys, and is really pretty.

lastly, i have the body shop 'glazed apple' hand cream, and it smells so good, and the scent last for a really long time! it isn't too moisturising, but i love it anyway.

Skincare Favourites - Avery Huia

helloo!

in this post i will be showing you some of my favourite skincare products. i don't really have a routine, but the products in the photos are in order of use. i really like all of these products and i find that they work really well on my skin.

in the shower, i use the simple triple action face wash, and then when i'm out, i use the garnier micellar water, clean and clear toner, clinique moisturiser, and then the body shop body butter in pink grapefruit. i use the body shop vitamin c refreshing face mist about twice a day, and the lush catastrophe cosmetic about once a week. i really love all of these, but if i had to pick a top three, i'd pick the micellar water, because it is a three in one and really easy to apply and does a great job. then i'd pick the clinique moisturiser because it is so moisturising and feels really good on, and it will last a very long time because you only need one or two pea sized pumps to cover your whole face. lastly i'd go for the body shop mist, because it is energising and it makes you feel really awake and also smells great too! 

these are all overall really amazing products and i would recommend all of them. i have normal to combination skin, so this selection would be good for most people :)

Flight Carry On Essentials - Avery Huia

hellooo!

as you may have noticed, i haven't been posting in the last couple of weeks, and that is because i have been in australia! i went over for my grandma's 80th, and i had a really fun time, and saw some really cool things and picked up a few pieces which will be in a future post!

here are a few things that i think are essential and will help you get through a flight; this was only a 4 hour flight, so not too long, and there are a few differences to a longer haul flight,but i think these items are important no matter how long the flight is.

in terms of body care, i have collected a hand cream, hand sanitiser, mascara, concealer, tinted lip balm and a regular lip balm. if you don't want to wear makeup, then you can take it out, but if you want just a little on, then i think this will be all you'll need. with body care, from experience, my hands get a bit dry on planes, and also, you never know who or what has touched the plane before you, and you want to stay on the safe side of that! i also find that my lips get quite dry, and this eos is sweet mint, so it will add some freshness to your breath as well keeping them moisturised. 

for clothing, i would suggest jeans and a comfy t shirt, but i think an essential is some sort of cardigan. i would recommend a cardigan or zip up over a pull over because i think that they are far easier to put on and off, and an oversized one like this can double as a blanket or pillow.

What's in my Shower - Avery Huia

heyyyy!

so today i thought i'd do something a bit different and show you what i keep inside my shower. i haven't seen this before and i hope you guys like it!

in the shower caddy, i have my simple face wash, my fudge hair mask and a victoria's secret smoothing body scrub in mango temptation/ i also have a glazed apple soap from the body shop, and the olive tree shower gel from lush, plus my razor. i love all of these products and they all work really well, except i am finding the shower gel a bit drying, but i want to give it more time. 

i would recommend either the simple face wash or the fudge hair mask, the highest, because these two both make the longest lasting difference on me, and i feel they are definitely both worth buying. 

on the bottom of the shower, there is a frank scrub in original, my shampoo and conditioner from sunsilk, and behind the loofa, there is an almost empty shower jelly from lush. i really love the feeling of my skin and hair  after i have used these, they always make me feel soft, and smell really good!

September Favourites! - Avery Huia

I have decided to do another favourites post, as last months favourites is my most viewed page! This mont I have been loving lots and lots of lovely things! I really hope you enjoy these products as much as I do!

6: The Body Shop, Fijian Water Lotus body butter

7: Victoria's Secret, Mango Temptation body scrub

I am really loving using these four products. I use the Mango Temptation body scrub in the shower, and the body butter, when I am out of the shower. They both smooth my legs, while smelling so amazing, that I could eat them! The lip scrub is great to use when my lips are dry, chapped or just not feeling good. It removes dead skin, buffs your lips, and is delicious to lick off after! Once I am finished using the lip scrub, I use the eos to moisturise my lips! 

With this pallete, I only use the eyeshadows. I bought this when I was overseas, and I absolutely love it! The shades I use most, are the top two, in the second row from the left. These are really subtle colours and look really lovely on! 

This necklace and these shoes are amazing! They are both so versatile and go with and outfit! I got the necklace as an early birthday present, about two and a bit months ago, and I love it! I have worn it for the past three days, and it is great to wear, because it is light and you barely notice that you are wearing it! The shoes are from Gino Pucci, and are so comfy! They are a great piece for winter, and are a great way to dress up and outfit. These shoes are such a great asset to my wardrobe, and even though they were a bit pricy, they are definitely worth it!
